TRAINING MODULES
Home Automation/Smart Home Devices integration and configuration
A Smart home is a convenient setup where home appliances can be monitored and controlled remotely from anywhere with an internet connection using a cell phone or other smart devices.
Home automation allows your smart home to run the automated processes and tasks you earlier configured in a local network with or without the internet.
Remtronic Automations organizes periodic training sessions where we provide all the necessary information, guidance, and solutions in a strategic and specific manner that equips participants with sufficient knowledge to design, integrate, and configure smart homes tailored to clients’ requirements.
Our training session is fully hands-on with sufficient smart devices (sensors, switches, lights, Alexa Echo show, Google Nest, etc.) available for each trainee to work with during the session and sometimes take home for extended practicals.
Participants:
1) Undergraduates or Graduates of Engineering
2) Other participants after assessment and validation by the Remtronic Senior Trainer
Duration:
1) Basic; 1 Week, 24hours cumulative
2) Advance; 1 Week, 24hours cumulative
Session: Flexible, Morning, Evening, or Weekend
Available Resources: Detailed Course Materials, Sufficient smart devices available for each participant, selected videos, etc.
Industrial Instrumentation and Process Control
Instrumentation is simply the connection of devices (instruments) that enables measurement and control of process variables within a production or manufacturing area.
The process variables used in industries are Level, Pressure, Temperature, Humidity, Flow, pH, Force, Speed, etc.
Specific Instruments can be connected to equipment to measure, display, record, or continually transmit these parameters to a receiver which may then interpret the information and carry out necessary actions based on the program written and installed in its memory.
This training module exposes participants to various instruments and explains the working principle, connection, and interfacing to equipment, reading, and interpretation of data, communication medium, troubleshooting, maintenance, etc.
Just like other modules, it is fully practical, you will see the internals and how each part is important to the overall operation.
The very important part of this session is to fully understand the principle of operation, and this will be broken down to a lame man’s understanding.
Participants: Undergraduates and Graduates of Engineering with an interest in Industrial Automation.
Duration:
1) Basic; 2 Weeks, 35hours cumulative
2) Advance; 2 Weeks, 35hours cumulative

PLC Programming, Operation, and Troubleshooting
A programmable Logic Controller (PLC) is a type of computer commonly used in commercial and industrial control applications.
They differ from office computers in the type of tasks they perform, and the hardware and software required to perform these tasks.
Generally, all PLCs monitor inputs and other variables, make decisions based on a stored program, and control outputs to automate a process or machine.
Most industries today rely on this important device for process control and automation.
Therefore, the knowledge of its Operation, programming, and troubleshooting becomes imperative for people in the related field of engineering.
At completion, participants should be able to interpret and develop ladder logic for five types of PLCs (Allen Bradley, Delta, Omron, Siemens, and Schneider), program, monitor operations, and troubleshoot if the need arises.
There is also a complementary introduction to SCADA and HMI included at the end of the course.
Participants: Undergraduates and Graduates of Engineering with an interest in Industrial Automation.

SCADA and HMI: Design and PLC interfacing
Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) is a software that can be installed on any multipurpose computer with which you can design a dynamic graphic user interface to monitor and control the operation of various equipment through wired or wireless communication means.
Commonly in industries today, people see Human Machine Interface (HMI) as just a device with a screen dedicated to the control of a set of equipment, however, it is beyond this.
HMI is generally an interface method between the human/operator and the equipment/machine.
Any screen, graphic user display, or combination of display elements that allow humans to view, access, monitor, and control the operation of equipment within or outside the vicinity is HMI.
SCADA has become an industrial automation control system at the core of many modern industries, including Energy, Food and beverage, Manufacturing, Oil and gas, Power, Recycling, Transportation, Water and wastewater, and many more.
The system deploys multiple software and hardware elements that allow industrial organizations to:
- Monitor, gather, and process data
- Interact with and control machines and devices such as valves, pumps, motors, and more
- Record events into a log file
In basic SCADA architectures, information from sensors or manual inputs is sent to PLCs (programmable logic controllers) or RTUs (remote terminal units), which then send that information to computers with SCADA software.
The software analyzes and displays the data to help operators and other workers reduce waste and improve efficiency in the manufacturing process.
Our SCADA/HMI training encompasses all that anyone could ask for.
We take you through developing SCADA and HMI screens, editing an existing program, assigning tags, publishing and transferring programs, and many more.

VFD configuration, Wiring, and PLC Interfacing.
A Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) is a type of motor controller that drives an electric motor by varying the supplied frequency and voltage.
This important piece of equipment can be found in most industries where the control of electric motor speed is an integral part of operation.
It is a simple device but may be complex for engineers/technicians without prior knowledge of its wiring, operation, and interfacing with Programmable Logic Controllers through AD and DA cards.
Our module covers a general introduction and appreciation of this device, wiring connections for control and operation, parameters set up, interfacing PLCs, writing programs to automatically control speed based on varying environmental parameters, establishing shut-down and start-up conditions, and many more.

PLC Project Design, Development, and Implementation
Most systems/projects around us can be made interactive, reliable, and efficient when designed with PLCs.
For instance, Traffic control lights today are automated using PLCs and this has allowed for easy modification of Timings from various types of interfaces, integration of various sensitivities, and easy troubleshooting and maintenance leading to very minimal operating costs.
They can also be integrated alongside SCADA and HMIs into various industries irrespective of size and capacity.
The module is project-based, it exposes participants to various scenarios forcing them to think outside the box seeking the most efficient solution to a laid down task. Modus operandi is simply;
- Participants are divided into groups
- Project topics are assigned with responsibilities shared evenly
- They are expected to develop step-by-step the method to achieve success
- Presentation is made to the Instructors, and areas of improvement advised
- They now carry out the project with Instructor Guidance
Project topics include PLC Paint Batching, Automated conveyor System; Box Sorting, Automated Traffic Control Light, Oil & Gas Process Automation, Water Treatment facility, etc.

Industrial Automation and Process Control
Industrial automation is an integration of various knowledge (PLC programming/wiring, SCADA, HMI, Instrumentation, mechatronics, basics of electrical wiring/ electronics circuitry, and simple mechanics) to achieve a common goal “Automated Control and Monitoring”.
Remtronics provides complete training on different industrial process Control Systems with theoretical and practical sessions in a convenient learning environment equipped with state-of-the-art PLC, SCADA, HMI, VFD, and Field Instrumentation Lab facilities.
Our instructors undertake real-life case studies and application examples, and share experiences and ideas amongst participants thereby impacting desired knowledge.
Knowing that the missing link in this area of engineering education today is the ability of students and trainees to visualize what a real manufacturing/industrial environment looks like therefore finding it difficult to correlate and comprehend the teachings.
Our lab is equipped with innovative tools, technology, and resources (interactive Videos, training kits with similar process equipment used in industries, and software that mimics the real environment) to address this setback.
We have always prepared students/participants for the workforce; you will learn how to wire and program PLCs, monitor a process using HMI, Interface PLCs with sensor and actuators, HMI and VFD to monitor and control motor speed and interconnect all modules for supervisory control via SCADA.
